Skills sets among generations

In this community, we create ways for everyone to learn, improve, gain and enjoy the fundamentals of soccer. Individuals play every so often and find new skills to show off or improve on. Soccer is a thinking as well as an experience game with the ability of a well physically and mentally body. Everyone can love the game whether they grown with the sport or if it is a new experience to them.

Individuals that learn the game of soccer are usually around the age of five to fourteen. Around that age area, the only thought they have during the game is to kick the ball and hope to score. This is the reason we have club sports for volunteer coaches to help understand the game and how it is played. An example of this is younger team of the Baytown Saints which are the ages five through fourteen.

The Individuals that are in the improving area are the next set of ages which are fourteen through twenty. This age area is usually around the high school years where they have a high school coach that expects them to know the fundamentals but still need improvement on their skill sets. This example is like the Baytown high schools (Lee, Sterling and GCM). We have the mentality of showing off in front of others and being selfish with the ball causing the team to suffer. This age group usually ignore the portion that include team work till  they come to realize that their season is a downfall. Then, they will start doing drills and practices that the coach set out for them which help their fundamentals and learn the thinking portion and understanding of the game.

Individuals that gain and enjoy the game are usually twenty or older. They  already know the basics, the fundamentals and the team work portion. That does not make them perfect though. There are still room for gaining new experiences and understanding other players’ style of soccer. They enjoy the game because even though their team understand that team work is the key to the whole game, they include a little skill performance of soccer tricks to go along with it. This can be an example of the professional team, the Houston Dynamos and the club teams which are IBFC Baytown Caribbean soccer team.
